Kyabirwa Primary, Uganda
Kyabirwa was our first library. Founded in 2017, we provide books, reading materials and equipment to over 1,000 kids.
Kyabirwa Primary School is a rural school situated 4 miles from Jinja, Uganda. The school has over 1000 children attending, and classes can range from 45 to 200 pupils. Throughout the years, it has aimed to provide an education to the local community, but suffers from a lack of resources and infrastructure.
Lilipad partnered with Kyabirwa in 2017 to build a library on the premises, and to provide much needed educational materials such as textbooks, reading materials and even playground equipment to encourage children to stay at school.
